Sydney International Equestrian Centre

The Sydney International Equestrian Centre has world-class facilities including major Indoor and Outdoor arenas, 10km of trails, a Steeple Chase Track, Cross Country Course, Stables and Accomodation. As host to the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Parlympic Games Equestrian events, it is the location of choice for equestrian and sporting events as well as many other corporate and social functions.

Caring for the Enviroment

Sydney International Equestrian Centre forms part of the National Parks and Wildlife.

Environmental considerations are at the forefront of all activities that take place here.

Water quality is managed by nine water-holding ponds, a stormwater drainage and wetland filtration system as well as measures to minimise damage from heavy rains. Water quality is monitored regularly.

Remnant patches of Cumberland Plain Woodland are protected and are not accessible by the general public. In excess of 80,000 native trees and species have been planted to replace some of those cleared by early settlers. This flora is now flourishing and has positively altered the previously depleted landscape.

A further bush regeneration program is being run by specialists to rid the site of introduced noxious weeds.
